The City of Weir, located in Williamson County, was incorporated in 1987. Although a small community, the City of Weir has a rich history dating back to 1856.
Geographically located six miles east of Georgetown, area children attend schools in the Georgetown Independent School District, and utilize the amenities of living near the city yet still enjoy the country way of life.
The community boasts a population of nearly 500 with just fewer than 220 households, a general store and post office. Although small in size, the character and history of the community create a tight nit group with large hearts and personalities.
Wier is considered the “Friendliest Little City in Williamson County.”
