Meadowlakes offers the privacy and security of a planned community with proximity to Lake Marble Falls as well as shopping and schools of Marble Falls.
The Meadowlakes development began in 1973 and was followed by the creation of the Meadowlakes Municipal Utility District (MUD) in 1974 to provide water, wastewater and drainage facilities for the community. Incorporated in 1985, the City of Meadowlakes became a reality with its first mayor, Dick Neill. The City is now governed by a Mayor and five Council members. There are over 850 homes and nearly 1,800 residents. The MUD is now a Public Works Department and has merged with the City Government. The community consists of 519 acres, including the Hidden Falls Golf Course, now also owned by the City.
