Bertram is a premier hometown situated on State Highway 29. It is the eastern gateway to the Texas Hill Country and is within an hour drive of downtown Austin. Bertram is a general law city with a mayor and five-member council. City services include water, sewer and solid waste. Additionally, Bertram provides a professional department of public safety and Emergency Medical Services. We embrace our recognized Elementary School and local Joann Cole Mitte Memorial Library. Bertram offers several park amenities including the J.O. “Chief” Wilson Sports Complex, the E.B. Goodwin Pavilion and municipal swimming facility. The City hosts several festivals and is best known for the annual Oatmeal Festival held annually on Labor Day weekend.
