Pedernales Electric Cooperative manager elected president of NREDA

Fugate’s one-year term will begin Jan. 1. Trista Fugate, Pedernales Electric Cooperative’s Community & Economic Development Manager, was unanimously elected president of the National Rural Economic Developers Association (NREDA) at its 2015 annual conference in Denver. Her one-year term will begin Jan. 1. The NREDA is made up of 280 economic development professionals throughout the country who work to improve the economic landscape of rural America through ongoing education and networking programs. The association also serves as a resource to unite NREDA members and the areas they serve with developers, site selectors and existing and prospective businesses. Fugate has been with PEC for nine years and leads the team responsible for providing community and economic development assistance throughout the Cooperative’s service area. In 2014, they launched a regional site selection website that promotes the benefits of Texas Hill Country communities to corporate site selectors in search of an optimal business site.
