Comal ISD Ranked 39th Best District in Texas to Teach


(Comal County, TX)–Nov. 30, 2015— According to Niche.com, Comal ISD is the 39th best school district in Texas to teach in. Niche ranks more than 120,000 K-12 schools and districts nationwide on an annual basis. According to the Texas Education Agency website, there are 1,027 public school districts in Texas. Niche.com explores the best school districts to teach in based on teacher salary, experience, and attendance, as well as the district’s academic, safety, and resources grade. A high ranking indicates that the district contains great schools with exceptional teachers who are offered excellent support and compensation. Comal ISD has 28 campuses and spans 589 square miles. Andrew Kim is in his fourth year as the district’s superintendent. “Although Comal ISD is definitely a fast-growth district, we’ve still been able to maintain our small-town feel because we are so family oriented,” said Tina Hartmann, who teaches at the district’s largest campus, Smithson Valley High School. “The teachers get great support all the way up to the superintendent’s office.
